Rebates And Tax Credits For New HVAC Equipment 2023Replacing your heating or air conditioning system is a big decision. It’s an investment in your home, your comfort, and your energy consumption. Many people go into the process of purchasing a new HVAC system knowing it’s going to cost a bit of money up front, but often don’t think about the financial impact your HVAC system has on your home for years to come.

Currently, in Idaho, we do have some rebates available when you decide to upgrade to new high-efficiency HVAC equipment. This includes heat pumps, electric baseboards, electric furnaces, mini splits, and more. These rebates are available through Idaho Power.

HVAC Equipment Rebates 2023

Right now there are 3 main types of HVAC systems that have rebates available:

  1. Ducted Air Source Heat Pumps
  2. Ductless Heat Pumps
  3. Ducted Central Air Conditioners

Ducted Air Source Heat Pumps

Ductless Air Conditioning Is Perfect For Zoned Cooling And HeatingA ducted air source heat pump is a very common solution in Boise, ID, and the surrounding areas. These systems are used to both heat and cool, so you can use them all year round. This system uses traditional ducts to move air from the pump and distribute it throughout the home.

Depending on the system you decide to install, the rebates range from $250 – $800.

Ductless Heat Pumps

Ductless heat pumps use the same heat pump technology that a traditional system uses, but instead of using ducts, they instead use a small piece of tubing to distribute the air to mini splits, or air handlers around your home. This allows you to separate the home into different zones, saving energy and further customizing your heating and cooling. These systems are VERY energy efficient, and are a specialty of ours at Snowflake Air.

Rebate Available: $750

Ducted Central Air Conditioners

A ducted central air conditioner is one of the most common systems for cooling any home. It can cool the home using a central system, with ducts that carry the cool air around the home. There are no heating capabilities.

Rebate Available: $50 -$150

The Inflation Reduction Act

In 2023, we are now starting to see some of the benefits of the Inflation Reduction Act. For starters, the tax credit has increased to 30% of the total installation costs through 2032 on certain energy efficiency upgrades you make around your home. In the past, it was only up to 10%. There are incentives and rebates on heat pumps, electrical work, water heaters, doors, insulation, and even more.

Our main focus is the HVAC equipment, since that is our area of expertise, but we encourage you to look more into this, and talk to your tax professionals to see the best way you can save money while upgrading your home.

Other Incentives And Discounts

Along with these rebates and tax credits, we offer a few of our discounts from Snowflake Air.

  • 15% Military Discount
  • 15% off when you sign up for the filter delivery program
